2 weeks ago we decided to move all the Smart-Thinker sites (Smart-Thinker.com, DNNDir.com, PokerDIY and a couple more) to a new dedicated VPS server to cope with the amount of traffic and growth that PokerDIY.com is receiving (out of interest it cracked the top 50k Alexa sites and gets 20 new users a day with 1000 unique visits and up to 8000 page views a day).

Since then we've had all sorts of weird and horrible problems on Smart-Thinker. The main problem is that the site has been going down and staying down for up to 6 hours at a time. I am aware of this and monitor the sites constantly. The other issue is that the Forums and PP integration seem to work sporadically. If it does not work please try it again before reporting it to me (unless it is an urgent or a query that requires personal attention).

You have to believe me when I say that I am the most frustrated and angriest person at the moment. I am very proud of these websites and any downtime or hiccups need to be fixed immediately.

Please be patient and give me more time than usual to address forum posts and queries. I am trying to move over the rest of the domain names for Smart-Thinker (there are a couple of aliases) and the domain company does not allow the creation of DNS nameserver records through their UI, and there is the usual DNS propagation delay.

If you cannot post on the Forums please try again a little later. I cannot answer generic questions and will ask you to post on the Forums when they are working. It seems to go up and down and if you start a new post and type for a few minutes it seems to be suffering from sort of viewstate error where the page refreshes and your post is lost. I highly recommend that you copy your post before submitting in case this happens and the try again until I can narrow down the problem. I have turned off caching and the whitespace filter to see if this helps.

I will be upgrading to DNN 4.5.1 when it is released and the latest Forum version - hopefully this will solve the problem.

Thanks for your understanding and patience. It is not often this happens and I am as frustrated as you are, but I have to work through each problem one at a time.
