Feature Requests Only - Use Forums for Support

DNN default forum at group level

I'd like to see a group level forum based on DNN's included forum module. I've heard talk of doing this with Active Forums, but I'd really like to see it for the core DNN forum product (which would in-turn make it usable by a larger user base).

Mechanically, it would work like this:
1) Group forum is created upon toggle by group creator.
2) Group forum is not auto created for every group, only if group creator turns it on (to save space).
3) Permissions are identical to the group page itself. In otherwords, if group moderators are allowed, that person can modify the groups forum. The groups forum may be public or private (same setting as group).
4) The collection of Group forums would be stored in a separate area from the main forums. Either: 1) A totally separate board (probably not good), or 2) Just a subcategory of the general site boards (better option). This way all group forums are stored in one forum "container/location", so as not to be too intermixed with the site-wide general forums.

Allow admin to add users to a group

I would like to have the option for administrators to add users to a usergroup, without sending any invitations or emails to the user.
I know you have stopped developing the module, but I'd like to know what this would cost as a sponsored enhancement. I couldn't find any contact information, so I decided to post this feature request.

The MyGroup module should indicate new group-wall posts using a little icon (with alt-image text: "New wall post" (localizable)). Something like:

Group Event Module

Currently, you can create an event and send evites to an entire group. It would be terrific to show these events on a "Group Events" module (sort of like the Wall).

When you invite a group to an event perhaps an entry could be made in a cross ref table connecting groupid and eventid. Then a display only module of "group events" could be displayed on a group page.

integration with dnnfusion myprofile

It would be absolutely great if the module could integrate naturally with dnnfusion myprofile as it does with user profile.

User Groups tied to forum

I'm very much interested in the notion of attaching a single forum to a single user group. I'm using Active Forums, so it would be fairly easy to put a Forum Viewer module on a user group page, but the trick is in telling the Forum Viewer which forum to display.

I'm also interested in possible doing this as a sponsored enhancement. We are currently working with Engage Software to connect their Publish product with ActiveForums.

I would also like to be able to tie articles from a Publish database to a User Group page. I would like to be able to specify article categories to a user group and have appropriate article summaries displayed.

Sorry I forgot to mention that approvals to the group by the owner could be turned on or off when invited from other group members.

I think that perhaps it would be easier if the group owner or a group member could invite new members. There would be a setting that the group owner could select to allow members to invite new group members. With this feature the work related to growing a group membership does not fall on one person.

Invite/Add to Groups option

For our use of groups (before the change in the latest release) we need it to be 'add' to groups, so there is no acceptance or approval required by the user.

Could this be optional, possibly for administrators only so they can instantly add users to groups, whereas other users are inviting others to groups?

Depending on it's use, others may also like it to be optional for users to automatically add to groups... for us, it is an administrator need.

to help keep our website clean, we would like to have to have the ability to approve/disapprove groups.
