Forum Guidelines

Please ensure you follow the bug-raising guidelines (e.g. post the full error from your Event Viewer) if you are raising a support call. To request a feature in a module, please use Feature Requests (unless you want to discuss it here in more detail first). If you have an urgent feature that you would like to see in the product then you should consider a Sponsored Enhancement

First Time User? Make sure you have read the Module Config Guide in the documents folder of each module. Also check out this handy Module Deployment Guide (written by a Smart-Thinker customer!)

Configuration issues and no time to read the Forums/Documentation? See our DotNetNuke Premium Support Service. We need your opinion! Please read our proposed new CrowdSourcing development method and let us know if you would be interested and if it might work.

Feed Idea  (Japan)

I have been configuring feeds all day today and I have thought of 2 features that would make this module more fun.

1) public feed. So we can add the feed for all to see. it would encourage more click throughs to user pages/

2) admins feed: A way we can set the feed output to be only from a specific account. This could make for an interesting annoucements module. very user friendy. Just add the announcement in a profile status update.

What do you think?

Mark

Me like :) Actuallu I was just about the post something simular.
About 1: This could easily be achieved by adding a dummy user, so I (an admin) could pick "logged in user", "passed-through id" or "dummy id". Last one in combination with "everyone" would allow all users to view a feed on say the front page, without being logged in or coming from another page.

Re: Feed Idea  (Australia)

Ok, could you add these as Feature Requests please so I can see how much demand they are in? The first one should be pretty easy as it can already show all for logged in users.

Thanks
Rodney

Jesper.

about this
"Last one in combination with "everyone" would allow all users to view a feed on say the front page, without being logged in or coming from another page."
with the feed set to user profile module you must still define if it is for logged in users or passed in user. either way it is looking for a user ID. the "everyone" setting seems to inherit that...

Do you have one working?

No. I've got a temp solution view a txt/html module to unauth users. Check it out here. Hope we will get the ability to show SF's to unauth users too (using the EveryOne option).

Smart-Thinker UserProfile version 4.3.14 has now been released and handles this. See the PokerDIY homepage as an example.
