Welcome to your new HomePage! Minimize
This is your page, and you can do what you like to it! For example, if you don't like this message, erase it!

Here are some ideas for your webpage:

  • Store your favorite links so that you have them all in one place for easy access
  • Display your favorite holiday snaps
  • Start your own blog
Hover here, then click toolbar to edit content
Hover here, then click toolbar to edit content

Editing your page is easy! Your webpage has 2 modes - an Edit mode and a Preview mode. When you are in Edit mode you will see the basic layout of the website. You will notice that all your modules have little 'Edit' icons on them so that you can change their content. Whilst this is useful, you may prefer to see how your page will look in real life, so open the Control Panel and click on Preview button. You will notice the icon changes and you can now close the Control Panel and use your webpage.

The only thing you do have to be careful with is understanding the security around a module. For example, if you edit the security details and remove the rights to view the module, it will disappear, so be careful when tinkering with the more advanced settings. Having said that though, you could always add another module, so it's not the end of the world! This help text is stored in the Header and Footer of this module.

To show someone your page, copy the URL in your browser above and send it to them (assuming they have the correct rights to see it).

PokerDIY offers users 3 additional ways to log in besides the normal username/password. You can enter your OpenID, LiveID or use your Facebook credentials to sign in. This is all thanks to the core and additonal parties Authentication Providers.

You may be curious to know how many users are logging in via each provider - thanks to Stuart from Cirrious (creator of the Facebook Connect Provider) for his assistance. Run this SQL to see the different user logins (note, you may have to prefix the USERAUTHENTICATION table if you use a DBOwner on your DotNetNuke DB) :

SELECT COUNT(*) AS FacebookConnect FROM USERAUTHENTICATION WHERE AUTHENTICATIONTYPE='Facebook'

SELECT COUNT(*) AS OpendID FROM USERAUTHENTICATION WHERE AUTHENTICATIONTYPE='OpenID'

SELECT COUNT(*) AS LiveID FROM USERAUTHENTICATION WHERE AUTHENTICATIONTYPE='LiveID'

The results were interesting.

On PokerDIY 82 people are logging in with Facebook accounts, 51 with LiveIDs and only 10 with OpenIDs. Great to know that it is being used! Care to share your stats?
