Ability to Add 'Friends' in User Profiles, Host Repository Module in Profile Page

Details: Since you have already taken the time to do up the User Profile Module, why not add the capability to add 'Friends' like that other web site that everybody likes so much? I think they have friends and another category of users that a user can be affiliated with. Very simple functionality, but would be great on any community oriented site.
Also, the ability to upload multiple media items per user: I noticed that you have a module to allow each user to have their home page, why not give the option to host the DNN Core Repository module in the user profile? I think the option would have to exist with default turned off since the repository module is not installed with Upgrade install... but it would be easy way to add user's ability to upload media and the like. Also, while on the topic, maybe the Gallery Module may be better hosted on this page? I say this because a while back, I modified the Activemodules.com active forums product for just this capability, starting with the basic gallery code from Johndcooper.com I adapted for my own use.
In any event, keep up your great work, your site looks awesome!

I really like this idea - the ability to "subscribe" to other User Profiles as Friends! I'm going to definitely add this to the roadmap for a future version! Good idea.

Hmmm - wrt you second point - I am not sure if this fits in with the User Profile or another custom module. I don't like the idea of "hosting" it in the module - but I definitely like the idea of better integration options- so you could link to a Gallery or Repository and have that displayed on your profile ("My Pictures") etc. I'm just wondering if this could be done using the core extensible profile - eg. "Gallery URL" or something to make this more generic. Please keep the ideas coming!

Justan update on this - The User Group module is moving slightly towards this - you can set up a "My Friends" group and then "invite" other users to your group (they can accept or decline). I will also consider putting an Add To Group button on a profile.

I cross posted this (sort of) in the forum. I would really like to find a module that facilitates a social networking environment based invitation and see others 'friends' and asking to be introduced for an alumni site. This facility with group would enable me to have years / courses and hopefully employment etc through an extended profile. Currently it is the invite and my friends group as default thats important. I am assuming that you have seen linkedin.com or xing.com, assuming you have you will know what I mean. Its only a small site - about 600 registrations a year.

About using UserGroup to setup "My Friends" is an option but what the users of MySpace and Friendters want to see the Friends of the profile they are viewing. This is not possible in the current version.
