Details: We are interested in using DNN to replace the user-administration part of our software. We need a strong user-group capability to use DNN - it looks like your module has some of the features we need. Here is the ideal scenario for user groups
1. User groups work with Active Directory groups - so a DNN user woudl automatically be in each group specified by Active Directory
2. An administrator can manage groups if Active Directory is not used.
3. One or more people could be assigned as a group manager with rights to mange users in that group.

If you are interested, I can show you how we mange groups today in our software and I can share Active Directory code with you.

Hello Leo,

I have never used Active Directory - bear in mind that the UserGroups are purely logical groupings of users, like MySpace groups - they were not designed to fulfill permissions or security functions.

Do your requirements still fit with this in mind?

PS - It's probably best to move this to the Forums to get more exposure

Thanks - I will post this in the DNN forum

We only need to know the groups that a user belongs too. This lets us deliver specific content to that user based on the groups he/she belongs to.
