Details: The UserGroups joined together with the Privaet Message module is a strong combination. But I would love to have the possibility to send a mail to an address and get it forwarded to all members of the group, i.e. creating a flexible mailing list functionality that is not solely based on sending messages from a web browser? What do you think?

Hi,

Although I agree that this would be powerful it is more of an integration issue - the core Newsletter module would need to be changed to take in a Group from a Group Picker - I don't like to reinvent the wheel so I would leave the emailing and formatting up to an external module - it would need some work to make it have the ability to pick groups - but I'm afraid that is beyond the scope of the Smart-Thinker modules. I could think about some "Export to comma separated email list" functionality perhaps but you have to be careful of security issues here..

Hi Rod

You made any progress in this issue? I'm close to making a decision which module to use and would love to have yours with that additional functionality...

Hi,

No, I'm afraid this wont make it in anytime soon - you can currently send PMs to all group members and the group owner can choose if members can send group PMs to everyone else, but this feature is not high-enough priority to make it into the core - I think this will have to be a customization.
