Groups needs much more thought beyond 20 ppl users

Details: There's some pretty fundamental flaws I found testing this module.
Too Many lists - A site with 100,000 users trying scroll through a list is rediculous. And shouldn't really be possible for users to see ALL your users. Eliminate lists and use search boces only -> ie Ajax etc. And have the option to turn listing/searching off altogether. So ppl can simply join if they want to or not.
The access users have to other users is too much. As mentioned above option it out, so ppl cannot access everyone but users choose to join what they want to.
Details of groups page should have a 'join' button if it's public and open.
There are many flaws in this module like above, and it should be treated with care before breaching many privacy laws by allowing users to simply access other ppl's info.
My 2 cents - hope it goes somewhere because the module has a lot of promise if it could sort these out.

Hi,
Thanks for your feedback, but this should really be moved to the Forums for discussions - I think you are either testing an old version or do not have it configured correctly.

All lists are searchable and templatable (There are 7000 users on PokerDIY and it is fully scalable (the sponsored enhancement was done for the requirement of 50k users, which it satisfies).

You can set it to only show users by role, and you can set what people see. You can even set it to only show the friends of that user (like Facebook), so privacy is not an issue.

There is a "Join" button on the group detail page? It has an approval phase?

If you wish to discuss any of these points please post in the forums with more detail about each issue - I am pretty sure you have an old version as it meets all the above points as far as I can see.
