Quote of the Day  (United States)
Modified By Jack Hoelz on 12/16/2005 7:13:32 AM)

I have a real need for this to work as a "Quote of the Day" feature where it would roll over at 12:01 am every day. Can this be done? Is it there already?

Is there a way to get the quotes from a text or xml file?

Can there be the option to disable the Date Said, Context and Author fileds as not required? or at least toggle that funtion by module?

Re: Quote of the Day  (United Kingdom)
Hello

1) This is an interesting request. The module currently doesn't do this, but I'll have a think about whether it is possible or not. It may actually be quite simple if you do some sort of server check - eg. if new day then reload. I'll add this to the next version roadmap.

2) No, not yet - I plan on implementing the import/export interface at some point but unfortunately this module is not in great demand and hence not top priority (although if you added some features to the Feedback Centre they could possible accumulate votes?)

3) I know, I definitely want to make this more flexible. The obvious choice is Scott M's solution with templating - it's all about the time though I'm afaid. I am looking at ways to increase the time I can spend on these modules but at the end of the day it all boils down to subscriber interest in each feature.

Thanks for your ideas - I will make notes of them!

Thanks
Rodney
