How do you resize the user profile template like PokerDIY?   (United States)

Hi Rodders,

I tried your your poker DIY template and it's exactly what I need. But, I did not know the template was branded for Poker DIY. Do you have a "default" template that has the same information, but not branded? I find the profile size to be mandatory if I want to use the wall and story feed on the same page.

Thanks

Yes, the idea behind templates is that they can be customized exactly to match your site requirements (so all users on my site are called "players" for example). The modules all ship with a generic, unbranded template (you can Load Default) but I would recommend just tweaking the PokerDIY one as it is far more advanced and you can just rebrand it to match your site requirements.

If you having problems with your template you can paste it here and I can help you if I know what you are trying to do?

Thanks
Rodney

My First Goal is to resize the template so that on a normal 900px width page it will leave enough room for the wall and other modules. I realize I need to brush up on my HTML. The way you have the poker DIY profile template is what I'm looking for.

Thanks Rodders,

I have almost no templating skills. Is there a book you would suggest that would show a novice how to skin/ work with templates?

On PokerDIY , it looks like you made the profile module really small and surrounded it with other modules, including a tabs module. I Like that Idea. I want to add a little more profile information that has do to with my website theme (talent). so, instead of "players" as you have in PDIY I would use "talent".

Here's the complicated part. I have three profile types talent, agents and fans. Do I need to make a separate template for each type?

I would recommend a WYSIWYG HTML editor like FrontPage so you can drag and drop stuff around and then dump the HTML into the template. I have to be honest, my CSS//HTML skills are rubbish too! (The UI holds PokerDIY back).

So basically on my profile page my SKIN has a lot of different panes (when I ordered it from Salaro I asked for a lot so that it could be as flexible as possible). I have the ST UP Profile view on the top left, then the DNN Stuff Aggregator module on the pane right next to it, and then the Wall module, another ST UP Profile module and some other modules in the tab view. This is the best use of space I have found.

I am not sure how you will show 3 different templates - currently the module only supports a single template at page level regardless of user data.

Thanks
Rodney

Rodders, Thank you for the informaiton on the template. I did find a share ware WYSIWYG editor and it made a big difference! I think I will still hire someone to clean up my work. But, at least I can visualize the way I want the page to look.
