Sponsored Enhancement Proposal Estimate - Profile Advanced Search  (Australia)
Modified By Rodney Joyce on 11/15/2008 8:44:52 PM)

Esitmate for CrowdSourcing consideration. If you would like to be a Project Sponsor please reply to this thread and let us know your requirements for this feature.

  • Name: UserProfile Advanced Search
  • Description:  Dating-style profile search on any custom field to filter profile list
  • Proposed Deliverables: New UI with profile search results page (in URL for SEO benefit)
  • References: Feature Request
  • Consider: AJAX vs SEO - fast loading but not SEO benefit - better to use URL and new screen. Review top dating/social networks sites and mimic functionality

Estimate based on above functionality: 18 hours

Cost: $50 * 18 hours  = $900

Individual Project Sponsor Amount: 9 people at $100 each or 5 people at $180 each

If you would like to sponsor this project please reply to this thead and discuss your requirements. Does the above solution meet your needs? Do you have any unique use-cases that need to be considered?

Thanks
Rodney

Re: Sponsored Enhancement Proposal Estimate - Profile Advanced Search  (United States)

I am surprised that there is not more replies for this feature. Here's what I am thinking.

1. Search should be by any core field created. This meaning also can do a search by roles.

2. The display should be sortable by web admins. I.E. let's say instead of the filter for online users to show up first I would like to make it where role based users show up first. A hierarchy we can control. Also would like to have by rating. (if that feature ever comes up) So if the user is rated higher then they will show up at the top more often.

3. The user list currently allows for a new members list. This mod should be customizable as well. We should be able to either show newest members or one thing I would like to do is make it an option to show random profiles. There could be options for other ways to show different type profiles.
