Please ensure you follow the bug-raising guidelines (e.g. post the full error from your Event Viewer) if you are raising a support call. To request a feature in a module, please use Feature Requests (unless you want to discuss it here in more detail first). If you have an urgent feature that you would like to see in the product then you should consider a Sponsored Enhancement

Edit Profile  (N/A)

I just installed the latest version with templated UI.  I was creating/editing a profile and I dont see the About Me field where you could use the rich text editor to add whatever text and photos you wanted to the profile.  Did you remove the about me rich text editor from the edit profile??

OK, I read in the forum you removed the about me field.  What is the solution for editing you profile.  In the current release of the user profile module the edit profile is useless.  It has like 3 or 4 fields that you can modify.  For this to be usable you need to edit core info + extended info + I liked the about me field, why was that taken out.  What is the solution for editing your profile???  The edit profile is not functional in the current release....am I missing something??

Re: Edit Profile  (N/A)
Hi,

I think you have read this post:
http://www.smart-thinker.com/Support/Forums/tabid/111/forumid/11/threadid/2043/scope/posts/Default.aspx

Basically the ST UserProfile module came into existence in DNN 2.x when there were no core profiles or properties. Since the introduction of these features in the core there is no point in duplicating properties in a 3rd-party module, so the properties that can be mastered in the core have been removed (eg, the About Me field has been deprecated by the Biography field in the core).

As soon as the core profile has the ability to upload photos then the editing side of the UP module will be removed completely and this module will be a customisable "view" or "window" of the user data. For an example of this - see the home page of PokerDIY.com on the top right (this is the UserProfile module) and then when you click on it it goes to a more detailed view. This is the future of this module as the core becomes better and more mature with regareds to profiles and properties. The drawback to this is that you have 2 places to store data, the core and the 3rd party modules. This is why I am slowly but surely removing properties that can be put into the core. The templating system allows you to reference and display ANY core property...

Thanks
Rodney
