UP 4.3.2 Customization  (United States)
Modified By Chuck Rizzio on 1/30/2007 9:21:58 AM)
Rod, is it possible to customize the User Profile Search Results display like you can the details display? If so, where did you hide the "template" :-) I've been looking through the resource files and have not been able to find it. Thanks, Chuck

Re: UP 4.3.2 Customization  (N/A)
Hi Chuck,

No, this is not possible to do - there's no template for it.
I am working on a minor update now and I'm stripping out the Directory and replacing it with the Search control I put into the Group Members (and Event Guests) - they will all have the same look and feel and you can template the results, but it wont be as functional as the Advanced Search as I am stripping out some of the properties that can be replicated in the core profile properties - the only fields that are really useful now are the Birthday, Photo and Censorship level.

So essentially any user will be able to search on other users in the directory using the search screen on Group Members.

Thanks
Rodney

Re: UP 4.3.2 Customization  (United States)
Rod, Thanks for the quick reply! I have a client that needs to remove a birthday and age (possibly gender) from the search results. I don't know about over where you are but here in the U.S. many people (at the rist of sounding like a male chauvinist -- mostly women) don't want their age known. It sounds like this is going to be a modification to the ASCX file, right? Thanks, Chuck

Re: UP 4.3.2 Customization  (N/A)
Hmm - well in the upcoming version the Advanced Search will not exist anymore (shout now if this is going to be a problem) - the templated search is a far better improvement. So for now, you can probably get away with setting the fields and column to Visible=false. Let me know how you get on.

Thanks
Rodney
