Question regarding subdomain creation on the fly  (United States)

Hi, is there any way to create subdomains on the fly pointing to the individual user profiles?

Let's say, if the first name and the last name of the profile's owner is John Smith, I would like to create http://johnsmith.website.com . I can -I guess- write the info on the IIS somehow, but has anybody tried to do that, or has the module the capability to do that?

I searched on the forums, but couldn't find anything similar.

Thanks in advance for you help.

Re: Question regarding subdomain creation on the fly  (Australia)

Hi,

No, URL rewriting to use the DisplayName is something that I am looking into. I have started a thread asking John from PageBlaster and another on the core forums regarding the uniqueness of DisplayName. Please lend your weight to these if you want to see them happen faster.

Thanks
Rodney
