Schedules Birthday emails - how?  (Germany)

Hi,

i'm running UserProfile 4.3.10 and cannot find the scheduled birthday email settings.
Where are the email templates and how do i control the sending?

Also, the birthday list does show birthdays of users who didn't enter their birthday.
This makes the list quite useless. Am i missing something here? How am i supposed to handle this?

Thanks for any help,
Joe

Re: Schedules Birthday emails - how?  (N/A)

Hello Joe,

Have you read the module config guide? It goes into detail on how to configure the Scheduled Task to enable birthday emails.

There is a file called "UserDataBirthdayEmail.ascx.resx" which contains the email strings.

All new records default to the current day if they have not been edited (agreed -this is not particulary useful!). This functrionality has not been touched since it was released over 2 years ago and is showing it's age...

Thanks
Rodney

Re: Schedules Birthday emails - how?  (N/A)

Hi Rodney,

thanks for answering. No - i wasn't aware that there was some install guide. I was just poking around in the settings and couldn't find anything related to birthday emails. I will look into this.
Do you have any plans to improve that functionality, e.g. to filter out birthdays that haven't been entered, or to make the list templateable?

Thanks,
Joe

Re: Schedules Birthday emails - how?  (N/A)

Yes, have a look in the Documents folder of the install for the guide.

I would like to enhance it but there are just too many other more important issues (every issue seems to be the most important to different customers!) - so at this time it has not been scheduled and if it was enhanced it would be a long time off unfortunately (I prefer to set realastic goals with my estimates than to disappoint)

Thanks
Rodney
