Smart-Thinker DNN Forums

Forum Guidelines

Please ensure you follow the bug-raising guidelines (e.g. post the full error from your Event Viewer) if you are raising a support call. To request a feature in a module, please use Feature Requests (unless you want to discuss it here in more detail first). If you have an urgent feature that you would like to see in the product then you should consider a Sponsored Enhancement

First Time User? Make sure you have read the Module Config Guide in the documents folder of each module. Also check out this handy Module Deployment Guide (written by a Smart-Thinker customer!)

Configuration issues and no time to read the Forums/Documentation? See our DotNetNuke Premium Support Service. We need your opinion! Please read our proposed new CrowdSourcing development method and let us know if you would be interested and if it might work.

Smart-Thinker UserProfile on DNN 5 RC 2  (Belgium)

This thread is about installing the Smart‐Thinker_‐_UserProfile__Trial_PA_04.03.14 version on the new DNN 5.0 RC2 release. The intention of this thread is purely informational. These are some of my findings about a new installation on DNN 5.0 RC2

First you need to log in as host. Go to Module definitions under the host tab. Now you will see that the page is a bit changed from the previous 4.9 version. Click on the Install Module link at the very bottom of the page. The next screen will show up. Where you now have to select the module through clicking the browse button.

After selecting your module click the next button. You will see a message in red that the package contains files with invalid file extensions. This because of adjustments to the DNN core.

Check the Ignore File Restrictions and another message will show up.

Now select your module again through clicking the browse button and click next.

After doing this you will now see the Packing Information.

Click next and the Release Notes will show up.

Click next and the Review License appears.

When we finally click on next the module will be installed. What a procedure to install a module. I can only encourage these changes for the modules page. Because I think that there are now many more possibilities to work with modules.

Re: Smart-Thinker UserProfile on DNN 5 RC 2  (N/A)

Thank for that Stijn! I need to do some more testing on the Smart-Thinker product suite but it will be good to go when DNN 5.0 comes out! I personally won't upgrade until the first version/patch as this is a major change....

Thanks
Rodney
