Forum Guidelines

Please ensure you follow the bug-raising guidelines (e.g. post the full error from your Event Viewer) if you are raising a support call. To request a feature in a module, please use Feature Requests (unless you want to discuss it here in more detail first). If you have an urgent feature that you would like to see in the product then you should consider a Sponsored Enhancement

First Time User? Make sure you have read the Module Config Guide in the documents folder of each module. Also check out this handy Module Deployment Guide (written by a Smart-Thinker customer!)

Configuration issues and no time to read the Forums/Documentation? See our DotNetNuke Premium Support Service. We need your opinion! Please read our proposed new CrowdSourcing development method and let us know if you would be interested and if it might work.

Pricing for private use, school, kids  (N/A)

I would like to ask about purchasing the UserProflie module but I'm a bit concerned about the packages.

I want to use this in two cases.  The first is my high school reunion page.  I'm organizing our reunion single-handedly and it's a very low budget event.  (Small high school, no committee or budget for these types of things.)

I also want to use it on my personal family website for my friends and family.  Primarily, I wanted to have a profile set up for each of my family members  husband and 3 kids) so that they can use it as a communications hub.  My 2 oldest children are both in elementary school and I don't want them joining a public community such as "MySpace."  I thought this would be nice for them to communicate with their best friends and cousins that are out of state in a "MySpace" type environment, without the child predators!

I don't see how the other modules would really be a benefit.  Are the modules sold seperately?  Are they discounted if not in a group?

I am running two instances of DNN 4.1.1 on GoDaddy's shared hosting plan.

Thank you

Re: Pricing for private use, school, kids  (N/A)
Hello,

I am afraid $69 is the absolute cheapest I can charge for a single module. If I did offer single products this would be the starting price - I decided to throw in all the rest and call it a "suite" as this saves me a lot of time (role maintenance and assignment). I have to be honest, even $69 does not reflect the amount of time and effort spent on any one module (Groups, Events or UserProfile).

Thanks
Rodney
