Profile owner can change the background image/style of the profile page/module  (Indonesia)

What do you ppl think about providing a functionality to the user to set his/her own profile in any style he/she wants. Myspace also provide similiar feature.

I think a module/skin that gives the functionality of loading the background image of the skin from a specified path (let say ../Portals/../Background[ClickedUSERID].jpg or .../skin.xml) instead of the background image of the default skin is one way of doing it.  Wat do you think about it?

Re: Profile owner can change the background image/style of the profile page/module  (Australia)

Hi,

Yes, I really like this feature and would like to see it implemented in the UserProfile mod. There may be a fairly simple way of doing it (like you suggest) - but it boils down to time at the moment. I am trying to release the next version of the Events module (with Detail Templating) and then I will see what needs to be done. Please raise this as a Feature Request so we can see how many votes it gets.

Thanks
Rodney

ps - the problem is HOW to reference the parent skin to change the background image - the UserProfile page is a single Tab (ie. all users have the same TabID, with a different UserID) - so I need to figure out a way of placing a module on a page that can control the page it is on (this is the hard bit) - if this is possible then the rest should be quite easy.

Thanks
