Can’t Configure SModule ettings  (United States)

I have added the smart-thinker utilities module into a DNN 4.0.3 installation without moderation.  When I click the settings link to configure the module the screen refreshes and I see nothing.  How can I configure this module?

Re: Can’t Configure SModule ettings  (N/A)
Hello Tim

I had a look at this on your site and check the module definitions, URL etc. and it all seems fine. Where there any error messages when you installed the module?

Could you please try to install it again (don't uninstall old one - just reinstall).

And I meant to look at your LogViewer but when I tried to log in now I could not - can you go to the Settings page and then check your log and paste any errors here please. This should shed some light on it.

Thanks
Rodney

Yes, this works fine on DNN 4.3.

I had a look around and this is the error that is occuring when you try to view it (from your Log Viewer):

Re: Can’t Configure SModule ettings  (United Kingdom)
This looks like it is something to do with the ModuleFramework - there is a known problem with the other modules when an older version overwrites a newer version of the assembly.

To fix it - can you please install the latest Events module (1.0.5) - you do not have to use it, but this will copy the latest version of that assembly.

Let me know if this fixes it.

Thanks
Rodney

Re: Can’t Configure SModule ettings  (United States)
Rod, is it possible that installing the new module assembly will cause compatibility issues with other, currently installed, modules?

Re: Can’t Configure SModule ettings  (N/A)

Hi Rodney,

I bought your modules a while back ...and just decide to use the Utilities module (Smart-Thinker - Utilities PA 01.00.00)  on my DNN4.8.3 .

I see the same problem - when I go to the module settings the page is empty !

What can I do ?

Thanks Glen

Hi Glen,

Can you follow the steps above please (install another Smart-Thinker module) and let me know if that works.

Thanks
