PM sent to user who has not accepted membership  (Ireland)

Hi, we are using Usergroups with DnnForge PM module.  We have found that the users tend to invite everyone to their group when they create it (we are an online college) - they click on the 'invite roles' option and invite everyone in the community.  This means that you can end up with a whole list of groups that you have been invited to and haven't either accepted or declined membership to.  The problem is that when you are in this status, and someone sends a PM to the group, you get a message.  Surely you should only get them when you're actually a member of the group?

hope this makes some sense -  I'm not sure if it's because we haven't got the modules configured properly, or just a 'feature' ?  any ideas?

thanks

Isabel

Re: PM sent to user who has not accepted membership  (Australia)

Hi Isabel,

Yes, the Invite to Role is really an Admin function - I don't show any roles to my end users. But this is a bug - only fully accpepted members should get a PM - I'll fix this in the next version.

Thanks
Rodney

Re: PM sent to user who has not accepted membership  (Ireland)

Hi, thanks for the quick reply.  We don't show most of our roles, but there is one that they have to see as they have to subscribe to it to become part of the community, therefore it has to be a public role.

Have you got a time frame for the next version release?  Just so that I can report back to our Helpdesk.

many thanks,

Isabel

Sorry, I can't give a hard timeframe (I tend to get burnt, like the core do ;) - I will try and get this out in the next month.

Thanks

Thanks!  I won't hold you to it, but you know what it's like when you've got the Helpdesk breathing down your neck....

cheers,

Isabel
