Forum Guidelines

Please ensure you follow the bug-raising guidelines (e.g. post the full error from your Event Viewer) if you are raising a support call. To request a feature in a module, please use Feature Requests (unless you want to discuss it here in more detail first). If you have an urgent feature that you would like to see in the product then you should consider a Sponsored Enhancement

First Time User? Make sure you have read the Module Config Guide in the documents folder of each module. Also check out this handy Module Deployment Guide (written by a Smart-Thinker customer!)

Configuration issues and no time to read the Forums/Documentation? See our DotNetNuke Premium Support Service. We need your opinion! Please read our proposed new CrowdSourcing development method and let us know if you would be interested and if it might work.

Sponsored Enhancement Proposal Estimate - Group Members Invite Users  (Australia)
Modified By Rodney Joyce on 11/17/2008 11:36:07 PM)

Esitmate for CrowdSourcing consideration. If you would like to be a Project Sponsor please reply to this thread and let us know your requirements for this feature.

  • Name: Group Members invite other users
  • Description: Allow Group Members to invite other users to a group
  • Proposed Deliverables: UI changes
  • References: Similar to Meetup.com and other social networks
  • Consider: Can use most of code again for Events module (not part of this estimate). Will need new DB table. Decide on UI

Estimate based on above functionality: 8 hours

Cost: $50 * 8 hours  = $400

Individual Project Sponsor Amount: 8 people at $50 or 4 at $100

  Crowd Amount
Sponsored 1 $100
Still Needed 3 $300

If you would like to sponsor this project please reply to this thead and discuss your requirements. Does the above solution meet your needs? Do you have any unique use-cases that need to be considered?

Thanks
Rodney

I'm in on this.
Rod will it include external users (external emails)?

Thanks Jesper, I put you down for $100?

Yes, it will be a setting to allow other members to invite existing users (standard selection list like Admin gets) or to send emails, although this is pretty much the same as emailing or using the Tell a Friend feature). Any suggestions?

Thanks
Rodney

Re: Sponsored Enhancement Proposal Estimate - Group Members Invite Users  (Denmark)

Yea up to a $100 - let's see how many sign up

The "Tell a Friend" feature I have now does not email a link to the group, it only emails the domain name. I was hoping you enhancement would put a link to the group in the email.
