Re: Unable to switch to module settings  (Australia)

Hi Tony,

No, I have not seen this before – it’s strange that it is happening on 2 different pages!

Can you please go to your Event Viewer and copy the full error message here – it may shed some light on it.

It is occasionally a missing setting – ie. It is set once and then something changes and it trys to load the setting and fails – but I was not aware of any outstanding issues.

Thanks
Rodney

Re: Unable to switch to module settings  (United States)

Hi Rod

It seems that you have had this problem earlier and I  was following up on the 6/25 problem
http://www.smart-thinker.com/Support/Forums/tabid/111/forumid/9/threadid/3331/scope/posts/Default.aspx

I checked my 2 problem modules the ID 758 and 759 are not listed in the module settings Table

so I uninstalled the whole user group 7 modules and reinstalled I still cannot access the setting of the 2 modules latest groups and Usergroup but i can add groups etc.

So I uninstalled all your user groups, user profile and events.and reinstalled ( quite a job ) it worked for a while then again it happened and I cannot access the setting for the latest groups.

The error is as follow

FileName:
FileLineNumber: 0
FileColumnNumber: 0
Method: DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.Exceptions.ProcessModuleLoadException
StackTrace:
Message: DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.Exceptions.ProcessModuleLoadException(PortalModuleBase ctrlModule, Exception exc) at SmartThinker.DNN.Modules.UserGroup.LatestGroupsSettings.LoadSettings() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Modules.ModuleSettingsPage.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

any ideas?

Thanks so much for your help

Tony

Re: Unable to switch to module settings  (Australia)

Sorry for the hassle – can you run the following SQL and paste it here – I want to see what settings you have and what it may be missing:

SELECT *
FROM MODULESETTINGS
WHERE ModuleID = <ModuleID>

(for both modules)

Thanks
Rodney
