Forum Guidelines

Please ensure you follow the bug-raising guidelines (e.g. post the full error from your Event Viewer) if you are raising a support call. To request a feature in a module, please use Feature Requests (unless you want to discuss it here in more detail first). If you have an urgent feature that you would like to see in the product then you should consider a Sponsored Enhancement.

First Time User? Make sure you have read the Module Config Guide in the documents folder of each module. Also check out this handy Module Deployment Guide (written by a Smart-Thinker customer!)

Configuration issues and no time to read the Forums/Documentation? See our DotNetNuke Premium Support Service.

We need your opinion! Please read our proposed new CrowdSourcing development method and let us know if you would be interested and if it might work.

Free Trial Licensing  (United States)
Modified By Greg on 10/10/2008 9:47:26 AM)

I'm using the UserProfile module on one Portal and keep getting a message that says I'm using the Free Trial and need to register.  When I come to the Purchase page and read the licensing information it says it's free to use the module on one Portal.  Am I not understanding this right?  Do I need to pay for a license if I only use the code on one portal?

Re: Free Trial Licensing  (N/A)

Hello Greg,

That's not quite correct - the module is not free under any conditions but you are allowed to test it Trial mode (ie. with the message) on your local test server. If you wish to use the module in non-trial mode then you need to purchase it. It will keep showing that message until you purchase a valid license (it's to prevent unscroupulous DNNers from using the Trial version on a live site ;)

Thanks
Rodney
