Aggregated latest wall post  (Denmark)

Hi Rod.

As wall is not a stand alone module I post this here in UserGroups.

I need a Latest Wall Post on my from page. You already have the Latest Groups that works like a charm on any (front) page, but to make it even better a Latest Wall Post view (one for userProfiles, one for userGroups) would make my users kiss my feet.

I'm sure yours would too :)

Re: Aggregated latest wall post  (N/A)

Hi Jesper,

Can you elaborate on what you require? Do you mean an aggregation of ALL Profile (or Group) wall posts into one view by Type?
Can you please raise a Feature Request for this so we can see how popular it would be (new views always take more time and effort).

ps. The Wall is a standalone module - I have moved this to the Wall forum.

Thanks
Rodney

Typical. I think I'm so smart (a smart-thinker) and it always turns out I'm not... :)

>Can you elaborate on what you require? Do you mean an aggregation of ALL Profile (or Group) wall posts into one view by Type?
Yes, aggregation of ALL Profile (or Group). Like a forum has its Latest Post-view. Should o/c only take posts from "open" walls (setting=read by all).
This would greatly improve the usage of walls (my users tents to use the forum for personal messages, meaning walls are not used that much, having wall posts up-in-your-face would promote walls). Could look something like this:

Latest Post ------------- | On wall -----------
Great news blah blah | Jespers profile
More great news blah | Poker group
With a setting of max number of charactars so if a post have 100 chars and the setting is 10, it would look like this: Great news... | Long Group...
This setting is great for small teasers in different pages. It improves visitor stay lenght.

>Can you please raise a Feature Request for this so we can see how popular it would be (new views always take more time and effort).
Yeah sure as soon as we are on the same page on what I asking for, I'll create a FR.

I actually had an epiphany today:

It should just show a little icon (with alt-image text: "New wall post" (localizable)) at/in the MyGroups module. Like:

Jeff Dunham's MaD Fanclub Group (51)

This should be relatively easy, right?

Btw, doesn't this belong in UserGroups?
