Edit Post Unavailable  (France)

Hi there,

I am using the ST suite (profile, groups, events and wall) but i can't figure out how to make the wall work. I get this error:

An error has occurred.
Error: Edit Post is currently unavailable.

I use DNN: 4.8.1 and latest ST version.

The wall randomly (!?) displays the "post new topic" and when it does, clicking the link gives the aformentioned error. I use it as a Facebook like install, no replies, security read everybody and edit registered users. Even when logged in as admin I can't write on my own wall ...

any idea ?

Gregor

Hi Gregor,

Hard to say without the full error message - please go to your Event Viewer and paste the full message here.

Thanks

Re: Edit Post Unavailable  (Australia)

Ok, it looks like you may have the Wall module set up slightly different to how it was intended - the UserProfile module on the same page needs to be set to "Passed-In User" - I think you have it set to Logged-On User, so there is no UserID in the URL for it to retrieve. Can you confirm if this is the case please.

Thanks
Rodney

Re: Edit Post Unavailable  (N/A)

Not really... I've tried that too (to have the wall and the profile on "my page" with profile set to logged on user ) but in vain.

The log comes from the groups page. Select a group, new topic, boom.

I have never been able to make the wall work either with my profile or with groups, trying all possible configurations. I've just tried to add the wall to the page w/ passed-in user profile and same thing happend...

Re: Edit Post Unavailable  (Australia)

Ok, I need to have a look at your system - can you give me admin access? If so, email the URL and log in to rod at smart-thinker.com and I will see if it is a bug or a config issue.

Thanks
