No Posts...  (United Kingdom)

Hi Rodney,

I am running ST-UP 4.3.11 and Walls 4.03.02 and I am having difficulty getting the wall to display any posts.

On a "My Profile" page I have a series of modules including ST-UP and Friends etc and a wall that is set up for logged-in user this works OK and allows me to post on my own wall on my own private page

I also have a member directory that lists all members that when you click on a member it takes you to a separet member prfile page that includes a wall module that is set up to receive the passed in user - this seems to work well on poker diy, but just diaplys no posts on the member profile page when I click on my own profile.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Nick

Re: No Posts...  (N/A)

In the settings, change the option to " display posts for this user on any wall" or something like that.

Hi Nick - firstly - you should upgrade to UserProfile 4.3.11 (there is a change for the Wall 4.3.2 in there). When you post on your own Pass-In Users wall, does it show up there? If not, there is a bug, if it does, and you want it to pull the posts from your Logged On wall, then try Makkabokka suggestion.

Thanks

Re: No Posts...  (United Kingdom)

Hi,

Thanks Makabokka that did the trick and works beautifully.

Rodney, this does not seem to work with the customID there is no option to chose the "use other walls etc..." Any thoughts as this is really important to me (I aready am using ST-up 4.3.11) ?

Thanks for your excellent support.

Cheers

NIck

Re: No Posts...  (Japan)

No, this is by design - Users are different because they have a "Logged On Wall" which only they own whereas the other types do not have that, so it would not work.

Can you elaborate on your requirements so I can try and understand what you are trying to do please?

Thanks
Rodney

Re: No Posts...  (United Kingdom)

Hi Rodney,

In a similar way to the previous example (albeit on a differnet portal) I need a private page where a record label can put on a blog post style comments and another page (that has a custom LabelID passed in -  the created by field in Catalook shopping system) that will display the same wall as the private page... if you know what I mean!

Thanks

NIck

Re: No Posts...  (N/A)

Hi Nick,

So basically you want to "connect" Walls together - so posts your publish on either are shared? You'll have to raise this as a Feature Request - there are many people who wanted it for a User's Wall, but I am not sure how popular it would be for other Wall types as the User wall works slightly differently (for example, it is the only one that has the "Logged In" setting, so you know that the wall they are typing on definitely belongs to the other profile wall.

So you also want to view posts from anotehr portal? Please mention this in the feature request. I have to be honest I don't think there is much demand for this and hence if you want to see it make it into the product you may have to consider a Sponsored Enhancement, but we can give it a few weeks and see if anyone else needs this.

I have not tried this, but have you tried adding an existing wall module from another page? It should share the data (but I have not yet tested this!). It would not work across portal though.

Thanks
Rodney
