Re: Database Size - Using the group & profile mods  (Australia)

Hello Sean,

Unfortunately I have no experience in multi-portal sites - I only run one portal per DNN instance for performance reasons. I will check what the size of the PokerDIY DB is now and get back to you.

Thanks
Rodney

Ok, the PokerDIY database size is 149 megs (after a Shrink):

That's with 6000 users, 316 Leagues, 370 Groups and 377 Events.

Hope that helps.

Thanks

Re: Database Size - Using the group & profile mods  (N/A)

Will your mods work on multiple portals? I am thinking of using your profile mod on 50 plus parent portals. I wasn't aware of portals causing performance issues...how much does it slow down using multiple parent portals? Unfortunate this is the set up I must use in order to make this venture successful.

Thanks,

Sean

Re: Database Size - Using the group & profile mods  (Australia)

Yes, they are designed for multiple portals. Just bear in mind the licensing limit (Gold is 10 portals, Enterprise it up to 100).

It should not slow down noticeably, although I have never tried it on more than 10 portals at a time. The only factor will be 50 times more records in each table, so you are more likely to be constrained by database size, but this is a core/SQL issue, not a Smart-Thinker issue.

Thanks

No, I have not used that.
