Are Smart-Thinker Modules DNN 4 Compliant  (United States)
Please confirm which modules are DNN 4 compliant.  I want to subscribe but have DNN 4 installed and am unsure if the modules will or will not work.

Re: Are Smart-Thinker Modules DNN 4 Compliant  (United Kingdom)
Hello

All the modules now work on DNN 4.x (the Event module needed some tweaking to work under medium trust, which has been done, and the HomePage module needs a specific 4.x version, which is also done).

All the other modules work on 4.x with the 3.x version.

Thanks
Rodney

Rod,
I just joined as a Gold Developer after reading this thread and your response that all the modules work on DNN 4.  After subscribing, in the downloads section there seems to be some changes that need to be made in order to clear up some confusion with customers.

First, the download sections of many of the modules it only lists DNN 3.x.  This may not be as confusing if you include DNN 4.x in the file name or download.  For instance, in Webcam you list it as DNN 3.x and when you download the file it says DNN 2.  Will the webcam work on DNN 4 (front page says all modules).

Also, there is some discussion about the homepage module not available for DNN 4.  Is it or is it not?
I think many customers will feel more comfortable seeing “tested and operational under DNN 4.x” title or note next to each module download page.  Just a suggestions.

I love your module ideas and am eager to test them out.  I look forward to the new modules you will be releasing in the months to come.

Re: Are Smart-Thinker Modules DNN 4 Compliant  (United Kingdom)
Hello,

Good suggestions - I had not realised there was any confusion but I can see this may be the case now.
Basically all modules WERE 4.x compliant before 4.3 came out. The core team have made a few breaking changes that affected the HomePage module, which I am working on right now (I am keen to upgrade Smart-Thinker to 4.3.1 as soon as possible.

I have tested the other modules and they work fine on 4.3.1, but I have not rebranded them on the downloads page (hence the confusion) - I will do this in a moment when the pressure is off (the HomePage module is top priority as it is prevent people upgrading).

To be honest, I have converted most of my modules and I do not wish to spend too much time or effort (equates to cost and less productive development) on 3.x, hence I am encouraging users to take up 4.x as soon as possible (and I am sure the core team are doing the same).

Thanks for your feedback - it definitely makes a difference!

Thanks
Rodney
