Please ensure you follow the bug-raising guidelines (e.g. post the full error from your Event Viewer) if you are raising a support call. To request a feature in a module, please use Feature Requests (unless you want to discuss it here in more detail first). If you have an urgent feature that you would like to see in the product then you should consider a Sponsored Enhancement.

Modules on DNN 3.3.4?  (United Kingdom)

Your modules look good, but we are firmly entrenched in DNN 3.3 which means that we have recently upgraded to DNN 3.3.4 for the security enhancements.  Will you eventually be supporting DNN 3.3.4+?

Re: Modules on DNN 3.3.4?  (United Kingdom)
Craig,

Thank you for your compliments. Please note that all of our modules currently work on 3.x (the HomePage is the only exception but a new version will be release shortly)

Unfortunately as a small team we simply cannot justify the time (and therefore cost) associated with maintaining 2 completely separate lines of code (development on the code is not too bad, it’s the testing, QA and support that doubles).

I’m afraid that in the future, only show-stopping updates will be released for 3.x – all new updates and modules will be 4.3.x compatible only. It was not an easy decision but we have to be realistic with what we can do and the best value of the majority of customers. For example, the new HomePage and UserProfile modules have some great new features but they are only in the 4.3.1 versions (for DNN 4.3.x)

Thanks
Rodney

Re: Modules on DNN 3.3.4?  (United States)
I'm a bit confused.  In the product description for UserProfile it says,

Please note: This module works on DNN 4.3.3+ and all 3.x versions except for DNN 3.3.4.

Are you saying that this module now works with 3.3.4?

Thanks,
Craig

There is a version that works on 3.x, however in the last 2 weeks a database constraint was found that clashed with the core (PK_UserProfiles) – hence a UserProfile 1.0.5 version is about to be released (1 week) which fixes this. The new 4.3.1 version with all the new features works only on 4.3.x +

So it works on all 3.x versions (including 3.3.3) except for DNN 3.3.4 at this precise point in time. It will be great when the product lines are all consolidated again ;)

Thanks
Rodney
